The big issue today seems to be efficiency. Everywhere there is talk of it, administrations are striving for it, energy efficiency is the watchword for energy policy, any unwanted solution is left out because of lack of efficiency and any unpopular measure is made palatable with the need for higher efficiency. What's really behind it? Only marketing thinking and words? Crazy search for the Holy Grail? Genuine need according to the rule where one talks about what one does not have? Misunderstanding of the fundamental laws of nature? Probably a little bit of everything.
